Hello Friends,
It’s February and we are headed for Spring! Here are some events coming upsoon.
This Saturday, Feb. 8th, the Soldiers Grove Library will offer Make‘n’Take Valentines. Anyone can stop in during regular library hours, 10am – 1pm, and make Valentines! All materials provided for making a personal masterpiece to take home.
The Soldiers Grove Library is once again collaborating with the Kickapoo Valley Reserve in support of their "Creative Communities Canvas Project".

This is an inspiring fundraiser for the Reserve, which costs nothing for you to participate and has Nature’s Stories as its theme. Participants receive a 6-inch-by 6-inch canvas to artistically interpret this theme as it pertains to nature. The art canvases will ultimately be sold through an online auction with proceeds going to the KVR Education and Events Program. Canvases are available to pick up at the KVR Visitor Center or at the Soldiers Grove Library, to be returned by Feb 24th, either at the Reserve or the Library. We’ll have two opportunities to work together with Patty Bergemann, a local artist and painter, and her energetic assistant, Jorryn Foster, to create your own canvas for the project.
KVR Community Canvas Project Workshops with Patty and Jorryn at the Soldiers Grove Library, Thursday, Feb 13th, 3-6pm and Saturday, Feb 15th, 10am-1pm.
Drop in at any point during these workshops, materials will be provided. You can also bring some paints/pencils, fibers/collage materials or whatever supplies you can imagine for your project and we’ll have some fun creating together! Don’t think you can’t be artistic. Just cast your hesitation to the winds, and come out to play!
Story Time with Ms Cecilia continues on Tuesday mornings at 10am, with stories, games, crafts and snack. It’s a rollicking good time for a mixed age group of kids.
More to come, stay tuned,
