Hello Friends,
We have an amazing local rock find on display at the library right now, which made me think of having a program about our local geology. Rick Redfield suggested I contact Phil Burgess, who agreed to give a talk, and Rick was kind enough to write this about the event:
Come to the Soldiers Grove Library on Thursday, June 6 at 6pm and meet an outstanding local expert in geology, "Rockman" Phil Burgess, for a fascinating session on the geologic history of our region. Phil is an amazing resource, with a passion for science, especially geology and meteorology. Delighting in our local geologic treasures, he has a renowned personal collection of fossils and rocks that he has amassed and documented over the years. Through his stories we will learn much about the ancient history of the Driftless Region we call home.
All participants are invited to bring their favorite "mystery" rock or fossil finds and Phil will explain them to you."
Hope to see you there!~Cele
