Hello Friends,
It’s just about Summer! And things are coming up at the library.
This Thursday, June 19th, 4:30pm
Cooking up fiction at the library
Prairie du Chien Author Marilyn Leys will talk about her recipe for writing, June 19
at 4:30 p.m. at the Soldiers Grove Public Library. Leys will describe the process
she used for turning ten or eleven ingredients – facts, drawings, and
personal experiences – into a section of a larger work. Leys recently
published the novel ‘Madame Jane’, based on the life of Jane Fisher, an early settler
of Prairie du Chien and the first woman in Wisconsin Territory to file for a divorce.

This Saturday, June 21st, 1-3pm,
Computer Fun with Area Expert, Joerg Feldbinder
Computers can be wonderful tools to help us with daily communications and organizational tasks, but have you ever wondered how all that happens? Joerg is going to take a computer apart at the library & show how it works! As time permits, he will also be available to help with specific questions about computer use.
I’m hoping these earlier-in-the-day programs will leave enough time for folks to have a pleasant midsummer evening as well:)
July brings the Summer Reading program, beginning with
Dan Nedrelo and his Critters!
Thursday, July 10th, 10am
Back by popular demand, Dan says he has "something new" for us this year.
The park by the creek behind Burkum’s store worked so well last year that we’ll meet there again for this, our first program with Dan & his awesome creatures.
Those who keep track of time spent reading will once again be eligible for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind, hand painted T-shirt designed by Mz.Gilbert. Reading records are available at the library to take home and fill out so come check out some books & start reading! There’s more fun to come, Thursday mornings in July, stay tuned.
Enjoy the Solstice!
